Who is John Sankey?
In the 1950’s John Sankey founded an upholstery business, famous for its quality and comfort, based in the heartland of British upholstery; Long Eaton in Derbyshire. Today, John Sankey - a family owned business, employs workers whose fathers worked there, and whose sons are beginning to come on board now with their apprenticeship scheme. This is a team of craftsmen and women who take pride in working for such a well established and respected British company and in creating your perfect sofa, chair or stool.
The Design Process
The design process is what makes their products stand out from the crowd. Every design created by John Sankey is the result of painstaking research; drawing on historical shapes but designed for contemporary living. Many prototypes will be created before they pass the test as they are devoted to achieving the best possible comfort.
